An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Customer Services Ambassador working within the Operations Team to deliver first class service for the Port’s ferry customers. As an integral member of the team, applicants should be customer focused, well presented and demonstrate excellent communication skills. You will be a key member of the team that provides customer service and information to passengers and customers across all aspects of operations, including working within the ferry terminal car hall and reception. Unsocial hours and weekend working will be a requirement. This role is working 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday between the hours of 06:00 and 23:00.
Key Requirements
- Help and assist with the movement of passengers and visitors within the port areas
- Act as a primary point of contact for all Customer Service related enquiries, face to face, telephone or via two way radio
- Ensure the general public using Harwich International Port are assisted and directed to the correct destinations and to ensure the smooth running of the embarkation/disembarkation of vessels
- Be professional and courteous at all times
- Check passenger tickets and visitor passes for entry into Restricted Areas
- Assist passengers with wheelchairs or heavy luggage as required
- Assist customers with providing information and guidance on the use of the park and pay car park
- Communicate with other port employees and customers via two way radios
- Cover the reception duties as required
- Direct foot and car passengers and present them to the Border Force control points
- Be prepared to train as a Fire Marshal for the Passenger and Car Hall areas
Who are we looking for?
- Previous Customer Service experience an advantage
- Well presented with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of a second European language an advantage
- Computer literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Answering incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Willing to work unsocial hours and weekends
