An exciting opportunity has arisen at Hutchison Logistics for a Freight Forwarding and Customs Co-ordinator to join the team. Reporting into the Head of Operations you will be responsible for providing reliable bespoke freight forwarding services that exactly match our customers’ requirements. The role ensures compliant and efficient end‑to‑end operations while maintaining strong customer and supplier relationships and contributing to continuous improvement across Hutchison Logistics (UK) Limited.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end‑to‑end freight forwarding activities, including booking import/export shipments, managing and accurately rating job files and maintaining data across our ERP systems.
  • Complete and manage all customs clearance processes, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and liaising with Port Health, Border Force, and other authorities.
  • Maintain strong customer and supplier relationships by delivering timely updates, managing defined accounts, and identifying opportunities to promote additional logistics services.
  • Support continuous improvement by monitoring compliance, contributing to operational efficiencies and providing customs advice to customers and across the Hutchison Logistics teams.

What you need

  • Experience and knowledge of customs clearance and their regulatory requirements and freight forwarding activities; sea freight, haulage, warehousing activities, intermodal transport and end to end logistics services.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines and customer KPI’s.
  • Excellent IT skills with previous experience and knowledge of freight management ERP systems (e.g., Multifreight) and especially Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience of related administrative activities required to ensure compliance.
  • Effective communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work collaboratively with a professional and motivated team while taking responsibility for your own work and contributing solutions.

Pay

Basic salary up to £38,896. Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
