We are looking for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join our free trade sales team at Harvey’s Brewery. At Harvey’s, our high-performing sales team is the engine that drives customer satisfaction. Working as part of a team within the family-run brewery, the position requires that you represent the company in the role of Area Sales Manager covering parts of Kent, London and Surrey.
We are looking for someone who can easily adapt to a new environment, and who has a successful track record of building strong relationships and closing sales. The ability to inspire and motivate is a must. You will be responsible for maintaining relationships with our existing customer base, as well as prospecting and securing new business for the company. The role will require you to provide product support as necessary and ensure that the company’s products are correctly dispensed and product quality is maintained. You will sell the company’s products, exercise good credit control and prospect for new business. You must maintain up-to-date customer records and complete all relevant information required to maintain the company’s CRM and back-office systems. You may be required to represent the company at trade shows and customer entertaining events outside of normal working hours. Whilst employed by Harvey’s, you are expected to uphold the good name of the company, maintain strong working relationships with customers, staff and suppliers, and operate within the company’s trading guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Providing exceptional customer service to all customers on a daily basis
- Foster strong relationships with existing and potential customers, and resolve any queries
- Sell Harvey’s beer range, alongside lagers, ciders and an extensive wine portfolio to drive sales, profit and brand awareness
- Set up and maintain a regular call plan for visiting existing customers and prospecting new opportunities
- Provide relevant reports to the Sales Manager
- Deliver sales pitches and presentations to existing and prospective customers
- Work closely with the sales team and Sales Manager
- Meet and exceed objectives through effective sales performance
Required skills and qualifications
- Proven experience as an Area Sales Manager or in a field sales role
- Extensive knowledge of the licensed on-trade
- Track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Full clean driving licence
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills
- Ability to influence and work with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to consult and negotiate with both internal and external customers
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Experience with CRM systems
- Knowledge of wine would be an advantage
- Willingness to travel as required
