A leading global professional services firm is looking to hire an Employment Tax Manager to join its expanding Reward Employment Tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within a Big 4 or Top 10 firm who is looking to broaden their client exposure, take on greater responsibility in project delivery, and play a more visible role in business development.
You will work with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, advising on complex employment tax matters and supporting organisations with both compliance and strategic advisory work.
The Role
As a Manager, you will play a key role in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality technical advice. You will also support the growth of the practice through involvement in proposals, client pitches, and identifying opportunities within existing client engagements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering employment tax advisory and compliance services to a varied client base
- Managing complex consulting projects and ensuring high technical standards across engagements
- Acting as a trusted adviser to clients on a wide range of employment tax matters
- Identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and support practice growth
- Supporting proposals and contributing to new business pursuits
- Managing project teams and mentoring junior staff
- Working closely with colleagues across reward, payroll, and wider tax teams on multidisciplinary assignments
Experience & Skills:
This role would suit someone with strong employment tax experience gained in professional services, legal practice, or a large multinational organisation, ideally with exposure to large and complex client environments. You should have experience across a range of employment tax areas including:
- Expenses and benefits (PSAs and P11Ds)
- Employment status and IR35
- PAYE, RTI, apprenticeship levy, and payroll audits
- Construction Industry Scheme
- Termination payments
- National Minimum Wage compliance
- HMRC enquiries, disclosures, and audits
- SAO and CCO considerations
- Pensions and a basic understanding of equity plans
The successful candidate will also demonstrate:
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to translate complex technical issues into practical commercial advice
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
- A proactive and commercially minded approach to identifying opportunities
- Experience supporting and developing junior team members
Qualifications:
ATT and/or CTA qualification preferred
