Job Description
We are currently working with one a leading consulting firm who is looking to expand their Employment Tax team with experienced individuals. They wish to appoint a Senior Employment Tax Consultant and Employment Tax Manager. With offices located across the UK, location is flexible and include London, Reading, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle and Scotland.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver employment tax compliance and advice to clients across a variety of industry sectors
- Be up to date with key technical and functional skills, and with industry, business and leadership skills & knowledge
- Contribute to business development including preparing proposals and delivering presentations to potential clients
- Take a role in the management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects
- Encourage opportunities to capture new business and develop client relationships
- Structure and manage projects or programmes of work which meet and exceed client expectations and mitigate any risks or issues
Requirements for the role:
- ATT and/or CTA qualified
- Experience in employment tax gained in consulting, legal firm and/or large global corporate
- Experience of dealing with clients and stakeholders at all levels with ability to influence and persuade to gain their support in decisions
- Knowledge and understanding of key employment tax issues including:
- Expenses and Benefits (PSAs and P11Ds)
- Employment Status (IR35 and self-employed)
- Payroll (PAYE, RTI, apprenticeship levy, audits)
- Construction Industry Scheme
- Termination Payments
- Pensions
- National Minimum Wage
- HMRC, audits, disclosure
- SAO and CCO
- Understanding of equity plans (basic understanding)
- Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell services of firm
- Proven track record in project management and delivery
- Be able to analyse complex problems and to deliver insightful, practical, and sustainable solutions
