Job Description

We are currently working with one a leading consulting firm who is looking to expand their Employment Tax team with experienced individuals. They wish to appoint a Senior Employment Tax Consultant and Employment Tax Manager. With offices located across the UK, location is flexible and include London, Reading, Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle and Scotland.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver employment tax compliance and advice to clients across a variety of industry sectors
  • Be up to date with key technical and functional skills, and with industry, business and leadership skills & knowledge
  • Contribute to business development including preparing proposals and delivering presentations to potential clients
  • Take a role in the management of the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects
  • Encourage opportunities to capture new business and develop client relationships
  • Structure and manage projects or programmes of work which meet and exceed client expectations and mitigate any risks or issues

Requirements for the role:

  • ATT and/or CTA qualified
  • Experience in employment tax gained in consulting, legal firm and/or large global corporate
  • Experience of dealing with clients and stakeholders at all levels with ability to influence and persuade to gain their support in decisions
  • Knowledge and understanding of key employment tax issues including:
  • Expenses and Benefits (PSAs and P11Ds)
  • Employment Status (IR35 and self-employed)
  • Payroll (PAYE, RTI, apprenticeship levy, audits)
  • Construction Industry Scheme
  • Termination Payments
  • Pensions
  • National Minimum Wage
  • HMRC, audits, disclosure
  • SAO and CCO
  • Understanding of equity plans (basic understanding)
  • Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell services of firm
  • Proven track record in project management and delivery
  • Be able to analyse complex problems and to deliver insightful, practical, and sustainable solutions
