This role is key in shaping how Harvey Nichols expresses its luxury identity in the modern landscape where creativity meets commerce and editorial thinking drives engagement.
As the You’ll produce visually distinctive, design-led content that feels both culturally relevant and unmistakably Harvey Nichols. You’ll work closely with the Creative & Design Manager, supporting across concept development, briefing, and content creation, while also acting as Deputy during absences. This is a proactive, idea-driven role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment and can bring an editorial sensibility. It goes without saying that you will be a talented and creative individual who will be motivated by working within a forward-thinking digital team and be able to take on a support role to the Design Manager.
- Developing and delivering the brand’s creative and editorial direction.
- Champion social design content within the Creative Department — developing forward-thinking, editorially led ideas that drive engagement and express the brand’s luxury point of view.
- Collaborate with the fashion editors and photographer to produce visually striking, editorially inspired assets.
- Work closely with brief owners to interpret and elevate briefs, reading beyond commercial or marketing language to uncover strong creative ideas.
- Balance motion and stills across outputs, understanding when each format best serves the concept and platform.
- Create high-quality design across social, digital, CRM, and in-store channels, ensuring cohesion and strong visual storytelling.
- Line manages and mentor a Mid-Weight Designer, supporting their growth and creative output.
- Contribute to the creative process with fresh thinking and ideas that modernise how Harvey Nichols approaches design and storytelling.
- Support on presentations, ad-hoc projects, and studio priorities, ensuring quality and agility under pressure.

- Significant proven design experience in luxury, fashion, retail, or editorial environments.
- Deep passion for luxury fashion and the retail sector, with a magazine addict’s mindset and strong understanding of cultural and visual trends.
- Experienced in creating editorially inspired content that balances creativity with brand and commercial awareness.
- Strong design skills across layout, typography, composition, and storytelling.
- Able to interpret briefs strategically — cutting through marketing language to find the creative heart of the idea.
- Confident, proactive, and collaborative — comfortable managing multiple projects and responsibilities.
- Interested in evolving how a luxury retailer communicates visually across all modern platforms.
- Creative and Trend-Aware: Energetic, hands‑on, and driven with a strong sense of fashion and design.
