Personal Shopping Consultant

Harvey Nichols is seeking an established Personal Shopping Consultant to join our Edinburgh flagship — a destination for modern luxury and cutting‑edge design.

This is not an entry‑level role. We are looking for individuals who already operate at a high level within luxury retail — either from an existing Personal Shopping, Styling position, or with a proven track record as a top‑performing Sales Associate within a luxury environment, supported by a strong and transferable client book.

As a Personal Shopping Consultant at Harvey Nichols, you will sit at the pinnacle of our selling organisation — combining commercial performance with exceptional client experience. You will be expected to drive your own business, leveraging clientelling tools, strategic planning, and entrepreneurial thinking to deliver sustained growth across your client base.

This role requires a professional who is commercially driven, highly strategic, and deeply client‑focused, with the ability to build, retain and grow high‑value relationships while consistently delivering against key KPIs including sales, ATV, UPT, and appointment productivity.

About The Role

As a Personal Shopping Consultant, you will deliver a best‑in‑class luxury experience, curating highly personalised wardrobes and sourcing exceptional product across fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

You will operate with a business‑owner mindset, taking full accountability for your client portfolio, performance, and growth strategy.

You Will

• Build, manage and grow a high‑value, engaged client book, driving both retention and new client acquisition
• Plan and execute high‑impact personal shopping appointments, ensuring every interaction is tailored, considered and commercially effective
• Demonstrate strategic foresight, proactively planning client outreach, key moments and repeat engagement to maximise lifetime value
• Curate luxury edits across ready‑to‑wear, accessories and lifestyle, with a strong understanding of Harvey Nichols’ brand portfolio
• Leverage clientelling tools and data to drive targeted, consistent communication and conversion
• Take a leading role in store events, driving attendance through your client base and delivering measurable ROI
• Maintain exceptional organisation and preparation, balancing forward planning with responsiveness to in‑store and digital requests
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with management, events, and hospitality teams to elevate the end‑to‑end client journey
• Act as a role model on the shop floor, coaching and inspiring wider teams to enhance client experience and identify future talent

We are looking for confident, commercially driven professionals who understand that luxury personal shopping is both an art and a business.

• Do you have proven experience in Personal Shopping, Styling, or a strong track record as a top‑performing luxury Sales Associate?
• Can you demonstrate an existing, transferable client book and confidence in building long‑term client relationships?
• Are you highly motivated by KPIs and performance, with a clear history of delivering results across sales, ATV, UPT and client engagement?
• Do you take a strategic approach to clientelling, planning ahead to drive repeat business and long‑term loyalty?
• Are you entrepreneurial in mindset, proactively recruiting and developing your client base?
• Do you have the organisational excellence to manage multiple high‑value clients, appointments and events simultaneously?
• Are you confident collaborating across teams and leading by example to elevate store‑wide client experience?
