Job Objectives

  • To liaise with the Head Chef regarding menu.
  • To ensure that the costing procedures are followed.
  • To ensure that stocktaking and stock control procedures are followed.
  • To ensure that all menu items are ready for service at the appropriate times during the day.
  • To produce and serve food in accordance with current authorized recipes.
  • To supervise and instruct all subordinates in the preparation and assembly of dishes and quality standards.
  • To ensure that by good housekeeping the correct standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are maintained.
  • To be aware of and maintain the kitchen’s Health and Safety arrangements.
  • To be aware of the security regulations within the kitchen and throughout the restaurant.
  • To liaise with Front of House management to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.
  • To carry out training for all new and existing staff in the kitchen.
  • To maintain good care of equipment and utensils within the kitchen and appraise the Head Chef of any equipment or utensils requiring ordering.
  • To run any section of the kitchen when required.
  • To carry out other duties as may be requested by the Head Chef or a member of management.
  • To ensure dress code is followed.
