Job Objectives:
- To liaise with the Head Chef regarding menu.
- To ensure that the costing procedures are followed.
- To ensure that stocktaking and stock control procedures are followed.
- To ensure that all menu items are ready for service at the appropriate times during the day.
- To produce and serve food in accordance with current authorized recipes.
- To supervise and instruct all subordinates in the preparation and assembly of dishes and quality standards.
- To ensure that by good housekeeping the correct standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety are maintained.
- To be aware of and maintain the kitchen’s Health and Safety arrangements.
- To be aware of the security regulations within the kitchen and throughout the restaurant.
- To liaise with Front of House management to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant.
- To carry out training for all new and existing staff in the kitchen.
- To maintain good care of equipment and utensils within the kitchen and appraise the Head Chef of any equipment or utensils requiring ordering.
- To run any section of the kitchen when required.
- To carry out other duties as may be requested by the Head Chef or a member of management.
- To ensure dress code is followed.
