Harvey Nichols is looking for a talented and motivated Business Analyst to join our growing Head Office team. This is a unique opportunity to shape the way we manage, govern, and use data across the business, partnering with stakeholders in Buying, Merchandising, Finance, Online, and Store Operations to deliver impactful insights that drive decisionâmaking. As our first dedicated Business Analyst in the BI team, you'll play a key role in documenting and delivering reporting requirements, developing data governance frameworks, and ensuring that business needs are translated into consistent, highâquality outputs. You'll help build the foundations of a mature, insightâdriven BI function.
What Youâll Do
- Project & Delivery Management
- Track progress of BI initiatives and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Manage reporting requests and backlogs through Jira, supporting a sprintâbased delivery approach.
- Plan and coordinate BI project timelines and dependencies.
- Oversee the migration and improvement of legacy reports.
- Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Management
- Gather, document, and prioritise reporting requirements across multiple departments.
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for BI developers.
- Define and maintain a central catalogue of KPIs and metrics to ensure consistent reporting.
- Monitor report usage and adoption, ensuring outputs meet business needs and provide actionable insights.
- Data Governance & Documentation
- Own and maintain the crossâfunctional data dictionary.
- Design and implement a reporting governance framework to standardise processes and outputs.
- Map data lineage from source to report, identifying dependencies and assessing change impacts.
- Document data sources, pipelines, and outputs in Confluence.
- Data Validation & Quality Assurance
- Collaborate across teams to validate data pipelines, ETL processes, and report accuracy.
- Test and troubleshoot reports, ensuring high data quality.
- Contribute to automated data quality checks and reconciliation processes.
- Continuous Improvement & User Enablement
- Identify opportunities to streamline BI processes and enhance automation.
- Provide training and support to business users on selfâservice BI tools.
- Champion data literacy and selfâservice analytics across the business.
About You
- A strong communicator who can bridge technical and nonâtechnical stakeholders.
- Detailâoriented, analytical, and proactive in problemâsolving.
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.

- Curious about emerging BI trends, tools, and bestâpractice.
Your Experience
- 1â2 years' experience as a Business Analyst (or similar) within a BI or data team.
- Experience using BI/reporting tools (ideally Board CPM and Power BI).
- Exposure to SQL, BigQuery, or cloud platforms (GCP, Azure) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence preferred.
- Comfortable working with data from sources such as Salesforce, Google Analytics, ERP, or eâcommerce systems.
- Retail or consumer industry experience is an advantage.
