Harvey Nichols is seeking a new Loading Bay Assistant to join the team in our Knightsbridge store. About The Role

  • Collaborate with the Line Manager to oversee the VEOLIA waste management account, ensuring timely reporting of any missed collections to guarantee accurate cost allocation.
  • Oversee the collection of waste by VEOLIA SKIP, ensuring all procedures are managed correctly and in full compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Verify the accuracy of packaging and stationery orders upon receipt, promptly reporting any discrepancies.
  • Ensure the loading bay operates in compliance with health and safety standards, overseeing processes and cooperating with the team to maintain safe and efficient operations, including keeping fire exit routes and work areas clear at all times.
  • Report to relevant department any stock/item left unattended in the loading bay (hardware and tools, props, stock, etc.).
  • Monitor daily deliveries and promptly report any discrepancies, ensuring to monitor DISCREPANCY TRACKER on a daily basis.
  • Check all incoming deliveries against the delivery manifest, verifying box counts and quantities, and promptly addressing any discrepancies to the relevant source.
  • Ensure the team follows workplace safety procedures, including wearing high-visibility vests and safety shoes while operating in the loading bay.
  • Sign in any visitor that requires to operate in the loading bay.
  • Report promptly to Line Manager any required maintenance work in the loading bay.
  • Ensure all IT equipment and lights are switched off at the end of each shift to control costs and minimize environmental impact.
  • Support the Stock Movement team, when required, by uploading store-to-store transfers (IBTs) and coordinating with the relevant departments to confirm receipt.
  • Ensure prompt investigation of unreceipted deliveries.
  • Ensure that any transfer out (IBT or returns to DC) are recorded on the delivery tracker.
  • Work closely with the multi-channel team to ensure smooth operations, coordinating the collection of online orders from the relevant floor.
  • Ensure that store-to-store IBTs and product returns are completed in accordance with company guidelines and within the required timelines.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders (POs) are accurately uploaded in a timely manner.
  • Provide support to After Sales Team on handling any Debit/Credit note case.
  • Effectively manage the delivery booking calendar and time slots to optimize loading bay operations.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all incoming deliveries and driver interactions.
  • Support VM fixture moves in line with business requirements, limited to tasks that can be safely and practically handled by the team.
  • Manage head office parcels, coordinating closely with the Head Office assistant.
  • Develop and maintain strong knowledge of basic operational tools: Merret, Stock in Progress, Stock Enquiry, Re-ticketing, Consignment / IBT / PO, Unreceipted report.
