Job Description
UX Designer
Edinburgh (Remote)
Up to 500 p/d (Inside IR35)
8 week contract
We're looking for a UX Designer to deliver user research insights and design solutions across a range of external‑facing digital projects, working within an Agile team to solve user problems and enhance overall experience.
Recent work includes:
- New Google Maps‑based functionality
- Launch of a Business Support Hub
- Improvements to site search
- Introduction of favouriting features
- Ongoing Design System rollout
What you'll do:
- Conduct UX research and translate insights into actionable design solutions
- Produce sketches, prototypes, wireframes and user journeys
- Collaborate with designers, developers and wider technical teams
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Use qualitative and quantitative tools to evaluate product performance
- Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG) and Design System alignment
What you'll bring:
- Degree or equivalent experience in UX Design
- Strong understanding of UX methods: prototyping, testing, journey mapping, user research
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Self‑starter mindset, able to work independently
- Knowledge of Agile, Jira, Figma and Design Systems
- Understanding of HTML/CSS (desirable)
