Harvey Nash's public sector client are currently looking to recruit a Technical Lead to join their team based remotely for an initial 6 month period. A software engineer with solid commercial experience of building containerised Spring Boot Java applications running on OpenShift is required to provide hands-on technical leadership to an agile development team. Ensuring alignment with strategic architectural direction and acting as a conduit between the development team and the Architecture Steering Group, helping to define and refine best practices, standards and architectural principles.
Main Duties:
- Support the continued rollout of the Property Factors
- Meet accessibility standards and remain compliant as they evolve
- Improve operational efficiency for administrative users
- Enhance citizen interactions
- Comply with data protection legislation
- Provide effective support and maintenance of the underlying system components
- Strengthen DevSecOps practices within shifting vulnerability management left and embedding controls in pipelines to prevent the introduction of new vulnerabilities
Essential Skills:
- Significant commercial experience with the following technologies:
- Java 11+
- Spring Boot
- Spring MVC
- Spring Web Flow
- Thymeleaf templates
- REST APIs
- JavaScript UI frameworks, including Node and Vue, React, Next.js and Typescript
- Strong HTML / CSS skills and an awareness of accessibility considerations.
- OpenShift
- Modern DevOps and CI/CD practices including deployment pipelines, Jenkins, and Docker
- Significant and demonstrable commercial experience in the following areas:
- Strong data modelling and SQL development.
- AWS environments including Aurora/Postgres.
- Human-centred, research-driven, inclusive design practices.
