Primarily Remote - 1 day a month in London. We’re working with a high-growth cybersecurity product business looking to hire a Senior Security Researcher to join a specialist research team focused on cutting-edge threats and defensive capabilities. This is a deeply technical role, ideal for someone who enjoys getting into the detail across malware, exploitation, and security research, while helping shape how products defend against real-world attacks. It’s not a typical blue team or red team role; it’s a research-heavy position where you’ll investigate real-world threats, build PoCs, and publish findings. They want someone who can operate independently, think like an attacker, but ultimately strengthen defensive capability.

The role:

  • Conduct deep-dive security research across threats, malware and attack techniques
  • Perform static and dynamic analysis, reverse engineering, and PoC development
  • Explore vulnerabilities, test exploitability, and design defensive solutions
  • Work across research, engineering and product teams as a technical SME
  • Produce high-quality technical write-ups, reports and whitepapers
  • Present findings internally and externally (incl. conferences where relevant)
  • Contribute to AI/agentic approaches to security research and analysis

What they’re looking for:

  • Strong background in security research, malware analysis, or offensive security
  • Hands-on experience with static and dynamic analysis tooling
  • Solid coding ability (Python, C# or C++)
  • Ability to take a problem from research → PoC → solution
  • Comfortable working independently and owning research projects
  • Strong communication skills — able to explain complex findings clearly

Nice to have:

  • Red team / pen testing background
  • Exposure to threat intelligence or threat hunting
  • Experience with AI tooling in security research
  • Industry certifications (CREST, OSCP, GIAC etc.)

Highly technical, research-led environment. Real-world impact on product security and threat defence. Backed for growth and scaling. Hybrid working with flexibility.

If you’re interested, drop me a message or apply directly — happy to share more detail.
