About the role:
Harvey Nash's public sector client is looking for a Snr Operational Comms Engineer
You will:
Lead the support, monitoring, maintenance, and development of operational communications systems using ITIL best practices.
Manage incidents, service requests, changes, problems, capacity management, and lifecycle management of communications infrastructure.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineers and direct reports.
Undertake line management duties including workload allocation, performance management, leave management, and staff development.
Lead documentation, disaster recovery, business continuity, innovation, and procurement activities.
Deliver third-line support for critical systems including:
Control Room systems
Mobilising systems
Airwave Firelink and MDTs
VHF/UHF radio systems
TETRA communications
Paging systems
Satellite communications
Telephony systems
Essential Criteria
HND in Digital Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related discipline.
Extensive technical knowledge and experience supporting operational communications technologies and control systems.
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
Experience providing technical leadership and support to junior colleagues.
Desirable Requirements
Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
ITIL v4 Foundation (or higher).
Expertise in areas such as Airwave, ESN, control room systems, mobilisation systems, radio systems, and telephony.
Experience within emergency services and fire service mobilisation environments.
