Our client, a leading player in the global commodities and trading sector, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join their high-performing technology team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of business and technology, driving impactful change across complex, multinational systems. This role offers a 50/50 split between functional and technical business analysis, ideal for someone who thrives in both stakeholder-facing and solution-oriented environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Functional Business Analysis: Engage with stakeholders across business change, UX, and product teams. Document business processes, workflows, and user journeys. Translate business needs into epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Facilitate UAT and support adoption of new features. Contribute to internal BA best practices and training.
- Technical Business Analysis: Collaborate with architects and developers to ensure technical feasibility. Define API specifications, system interactions, and data flows. Document non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, security, scalability). Support impact analysis and technical feasibility assessments. Work with cloud-based systems (Azure), CI/CD pipelines, and security frameworks.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Functional Expertise: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban). Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and process modeling. Background in commodities or financial trading environments preferred.
- Technical Acumen: Understanding of APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture. SQL proficiency for data validation and analysis. Familiarity with Azure, DevOps, and authentication frameworks (OAuth, SAML, etc.). Ability to document technical specifications and data mappings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in both functional and technical BA roles.
- Exposure to the full trade lifecycle (Trade Capture, Risk, Ops, Back Office).
- Experience with multinational projects and both bespoke and packaged solutions.
- Degree-educated or equivalent; ISEB/IIBA certification is a plus.
