A leading global financial institution is seeking a highly skilled Risk & Control Lead to design, develop and implement Human Capital Risk (HCR) frameworks within a complex Markets environment. This is a strategic role focused on strengthening risk management standards, enhancing control effectiveness, and driving consistent practices across diverse business lines.
The Role
You will play a pivotal part in shaping and embedding HCR risk and control capabilities. Working closely with senior stakeholders across Markets, you will ensure robust risk identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting practices are in place and aligned to firm-wide expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Inherent Risk Assessments tailored to HCR risks across Markets businesses
- Analyse Manager Control Assessment (MCA) data, identify gaps, and partner with stakeholders to drive remediation
- Define, standardise and implement HCR controls and monitoring across multiple business areas
- Collaborate with Markets teams to understand risk drivers and ensure appropriate controls are designed and executed
- Oversee and validate control execution to ensure effectiveness and compliance
- Lead the standardisation of HCR reporting, assessing data sources and methodologies to recommend improvements
What You’ll Bring
- 5-10 years’ experience in a 1LoD Risk & Control role within a large, complex organisation
- Strong understanding of operational risk frameworks and risk & control assessment methodologies
- Proven ability to translate business knowledge into robust risk assessments
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels
- Highly collaborative, adaptable, and detail-oriented, with a track record of thriving in fast-paced environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, able to synthesise complex data into actionable insights
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to optimise processes and lead improvement initiatives
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
