The Sales Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting revenue operations, compensation modeling, and strategic business analysis. The role requires a strong technical background with advanced SQL skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively across teams. The successful candidate will be involved in crucial business processes such as revenue reporting, bonus calculations, and revenue forecasting, while working closely with finance, operations, and sales teams. This is a temporary position covering a maternity leave, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Reporting & Compensation: Support revenue operations by providing regular reports on revenue, headcount, and sales performance. Calculate bonuses and compensation models based on revenue targets and performance data. Assist with setting and reviewing quarterly revenue targets.
- Ad-hoc Data Analysis & Insights: Retrieve and analyze data from multiple sources using advanced SQL. Conduct deep dives into sales data and prepare actionable insights for senior stakeholders. Use historical data to model scenarios and assist with compensation changes and incentive structures.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the finance team for daily collaboration on revenue tracking, compensation, and forecasting. Work closely with the Go-To-Market (GTM) team to ensure alignment between strategy and operational execution. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to inform commercial decisions.
- Technical Support for Strategic Projects: Actively contribute to projects related to sales operations, including pilot testing and the implementation of changes to sales structures and compensation. Collaborate on complex projects involving compensation models, especially in the EMEA region.
- Stakeholder Communication: Synthesize and present data to key stakeholders, making complex analysis understandable for both technical and non-technical audiences. Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams like finance, operations, and sales.
Key Requirements:
- SQL Proficiency: Must have demonstrable experience with advanced SQL (4+ years). Ability to pull, analyze, and synthesize data from different systems is essential.
- Commercial Experience: 4-8 years of experience in business operations, strategy, or revenue operations. Strong preference for candidates with experience in tech startups, multinationals, or companies that sell digital products. Experience in roles such as Sales Operations Analyst, Revenue Operations, or Go-to-Market Sales Operations is ideal.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to work with large datasets and draw actionable insights that influence business decisions. Proven experience in revenue analysis, compensation modeling, and forecasting.
- Communication and Influencing Skills: Strong ability to present data clearly to a wide range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical. Experience influencing commercial decisions based on data insights. Excellent collaboration skills and ability to partner effectively across teams, especially with finance and operations.
- Educational Qualifications: A background in business, economics, or a related field is preferred. ACCA or other relevant qualifications are beneficial but not required. Financial accounting experience is less relevant and may not align with the technical needs of the role.
- Preferred Industry Experience: Previous experience in advertising, marketing, or similar fields that involve digital product sales is highly desirable.
