We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join a growing technology function responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work within a modern environment, supporting critical services and managing integrations with third-party technology providers.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in AWS and Infrastructure as Code, with experience designing resilient platforms, automating deployments, and ensuring systems meet high standards of security, reliability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable cloud infrastructure, primarily within AWS.
- Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, creating reusable modules and automation scripts.
- Establish, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
- Collaborate with development teams to support infrastructure deployments and best practices.
- Manage technical integrations and maintain strong relationships with third-party technology providers.
- Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of systems.
- Implement security controls and support vulnerability remediation activities.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including runbooks, architecture diagrams, and process flows.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance platform capabilities.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience designing, building, and supporting cloud infrastructure.
- Strong expertise with AWS services and cloud security principles.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
- Proven experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or similar.
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Fargate.
- Knowledge of serverless architectures and cloud-native solutions.
- Familiarity with security technologies including WAF, IDS, IPS, and SIEM tools (Splunk experience desirable).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within Agile teams.
- Experience within Financial Services or FinTech environments.
- Knowledge of Open Banking, PSD2, or regulated environments.
- Programming experience with Python or other object-oriented or functional languages.
- Experience working within Agile Scrum or Kanban teams.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
