A leading global technology consultancy is hiring a Data Architect to join its growing Data & AI team, delivering large-scale data transformation and migration projects for enterprise clients. This organisation supports major brands across finance, retail and tech to modernise data platforms, strengthen governance, and unlock value from data.
A client-facing Data Architect position focused on translating business requirements into robust technical designs for engineering teams. You’ll define migration strategies, data models, and scalable architectures that drive real outcomes. This role suits someone who enjoys stakeholder engagement and solving complex data challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Define and document data migration designs and blueprints
- Design schemas, storage models and source-to-target mappings
- Capture and validate requirements with stakeholders
- Propose optimisation strategies for performance and scalability
- Contribute to sprint planning and backlog refinement
- Provide updates in stand-ups and sprint reviews
- Support continuous improvement across delivery teams
Experience Required:
- Strong understanding of data structures (JSON, XML, nested datasets)
- Good SQL knowledge and core data engineering concepts
- Experience translating business needs into technical specifications
- Self-starter comfortable working autonomously
- Ability to support data engineers when needed
Nice to Have:
- Retail or eCommerce experience
- Cloud or data certifications
- Consultancy experience would be a bonus
- DBT or Dataform experience
