The Opportunity

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join an agile engineering team in Belfast, helping to develop responsive web applications, reliable backend services and scalable cloud-based solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to build on their existing technical skills, gain hands-on industry experience and learn from experienced engineers and technical mentors in a collaborative environment.

We’re keen to hear from candidates who are naturally curious about how technology works, take pride in writing quality code and are driven to solve problems and deliver meaningful results. Whether your experience comes from previous employment, internships, university projects or personal development, we want to hear from you.

With a contract-to-permanent opportunity, this role offers the chance to develop your skills, contribute to real-world projects and grow your career within a supportive engineering team.

  • An understanding of responsive design and building user-friendly web applications.
  • Working knowledge of Python, including developing REST APIs, data processing scripts or backend services.
  • An interest in building reliable, maintainable and efficient software.

Databases

  • Experience working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
  • Understanding of SQL queries, data modelling, database schema design and indexing.

Version Control and Agile Working

  • Familiarity with Git and GitHub, including branching, pull requests and collaborative code reviews.
  • An understanding of Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Willingness to collaborate with team members, receive feedback and continuously improve.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to code quality.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • A curious, proactive mindset and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
  • The ability to take ownership of tasks and follow through on commitments.

Experience with the following would be advantageous, but is not essential:

  • Cloud Technologies: Exposure to AWS services such as Lambda, S3, CloudFront, RDS PostgreSQL and API Gateway.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Basic knowledge of Terraform or automated cloud deployment.
  • Automation and CI/CD: Familiarity with Bash scripting, GitHub Actions or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Testing: Experience writing unit tests using tools such as PyTest, Jest or React Testing Library.

  • Role: Junior Software Engineer
  • Location: Belfast
  • IR35 Status: Inside IR35
