Java Developer

Harvey Nash have an urgent requirement for a Java Developer for a public sector client in Edinburgh. Please note this is an urgent 10 week contract starting ASAP. Outside of IR35 £400 a day Two days a week onsite in Edinburgh Candidates must have a valid Disclosure Scotland check The Role Upgrade our clients application from Spring 2.5 and Spring Security 2.0.8 to Spring Framework 5.3.x and Spring Security 5.8.x. We are looking for the following experience:
Strong legacy Spring migration/remediation experience. Experienced Java development (Java 8/11/17). Spring Framework (MVC, transactions, Security). Proven migration experience from Spring 2.x/3.x ? 5.x/6.x Hibernate/JPA, including upgrade to Hibernate 5.6. Experience remediating security vulnerabilities (CVE mitigation, CSRF/session handling). Strong JSP/JSTL experience and ability to retire legacy Tiles layouts. Maven, Jenkins CI/CD, TomEE 8 deployment experience. Familiarity with Eclipse IDE (preferred toolchain). Prior experience in public-sector application remediation or cyber uplift projects. Awareness of future Jakarta EE (javax ? jakarta) migration implications.
