Overview: We are working with a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering IT infrastructure, cloud, and security solutions to SME clients across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Head of Projects to lead and develop their project delivery function.

The Role: You will combine strategic leadership with hands‑on delivery, ensuring IT and transformation projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard within an MSP environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of IT and transformation projects across multiple clients
  • Establish and develop PMO capability, including governance, reporting, and processes
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of project engineers and technical specialists
  • Act as the senior escalation point for project delivery and client issues
  • Oversee project financials including budgets, margins, and resource planning
  • Collaborate with sales and pre‑sales teams to scope and shape projects
  • Drive continuous improvement across delivery standards, tools, and methodologies

Experience Required

  • Proven experience delivering IT projects within an MSP or IT services environment
  • Strong background in infrastructure, cloud (M365/Azure), networking, or security
  • Experience leading or managing a project delivery or engineering team
  • Solid understanding of PMO practices (governance, reporting, resource management)
  • Strong stakeholder management and client‑facing skills
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and profitability

Desirable

  • PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent
  • ITIL knowledge or certification
  • Experience with PSA/project tools (e.g. ConnectWise, Autotask, MS Project)
