London (Hybrid – Mon, Weds, Thurs office based) Harvey Nash is looking for a highly technical and detail-driven Group Financial Accountant to join our central finance team in London. This is a pivotal role for a qualified accountant who thrives in a hands-on, technically demanding environment and enjoys staying close to the numbers. You will play a key part in driving financial governance, group-wide reporting, and control across a complex international structure. This is not a stepping-stone role for someone looking to move away from core finance. It is an opportunity to stay close to technical accounting, deepen expertise in group reporting, and grow within a high-performing, evolving finance function. You will also gain exposure to group-wide transformation projects, consolidation improvements, process optimisation, and strategic finance initiatives, with clear opportunities for progression over time.

What Makes This Role Different

  • A technically focused role where you remain close to core accounting and reporting
  • Strong exposure to group-wide finance operations, controls, and governance
  • Opportunity to be involved in process improvement, consolidation enhancements, and transformation projects
  • Genuine career progression within Group Finance
  • Exposure to a complex, international, multi-currency business environment
  • A high-visibility role working closely with senior finance leadership

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • A smooth, accurate and controlled monthly close process
  • Clean, fully reconciled intercompany position across the Group
  • Strong audit outcomes with minimal issues or adjustments
  • Improved consistency and efficiency across group reporting processes
  • Trusted advisor to regional finance teams and senior stakeholders

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be central to the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of group financial reporting across multiple international entities. Supporting the timely and accurate month-end close process across the Group, ensuring reporting deadlines are met and financial information is complete and reliable. Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting Group reporting packs, management information and variance analysis. Managing intercompany accounting across multiple entities, ensuring balances are fully reconciled, consistently reported and appropriately documented. Supporting debtor reporting and analysis, partnering with regional finance teams to improve DSO performance and ensure adherence to contractual payment terms. Contributing to Group consolidation processes and identifying opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency, controls and accuracy. Supporting ESG and sustainability reporting requirements, including net-zero related monitoring and submissions.

Governance, Tax & Compliance

Supporting Group-wide tax compliance, tax provisions and planning activities across multiple jurisdictions. Managing company secretarial responsibilities, including statutory filings, ONS submissions, maintenance of Group structure records and supporting entity rationalisation initiatives. Assisting with the management and renewal of the Group's global insurance portfolio and maintaining accurate records across all regions. Developing, maintaining and enhancing financial controls, governance frameworks and compliance processes to safeguard organisational assets and support regulatory requirements.

Audit, Risk & Technical Accounting

Leading the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation for the annual audit process. Acting as a key point of contact for external auditors and advisors, supporting testing, queries and statutory reporting requirements. Supporting the preparation of statutory financial statements and ensuring compliance with IFRS, GAAP and Group accounting policies. Managing accounting activities relating to holding companies, non-trading entities and investment schedules. Driving internal audit activities and promoting best practice across financial processes and controls.

Business Partnering & Projects

Building strong relationships with regional finance teams, senior stakeholders and external advisors across audit, tax, banking and insurance. Supporting treasury activities including cash position reporting, interest accounting and cash flow forecasting. Working on Group-wide projects, process improvements and reporting enhancements, helping to drive consistency, efficiency and best practice across the finance function.

About You

You will be a qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with strong technical accounting credentials and experience operating within an international group environment. We're particularly interested in candidates who enjoy technical finance and want to build a long-term career within Group Finance rather than moving away from core accounting and reporting responsibilities.

  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Experience within a Group Finance, Group Reporting or Financial Accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience working within a complex multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
  • Proven background in group reporting, consolidations and intercompany accounting.
  • Experience supporting annual audits and statutory reporting processes.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance, governance and financial controls.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems such as Dynamics 365 or similar.
