Harvey Nash's public sector client is looking for an experienced Platform engineer.
Main Duties:
- Contribute and plan towards adoption of NVMe
- Continue to enhance organisational resilience position
- Enhance and expand Commvault backup service
- Improve platform engineering for vMotion setup
- Collaboratively design, plan and deploy new technology solutions (e.g. vRealize automation orchestration, vROPS, VMWare NSX, Nutanix, SAN migration, DR and BC enhancement)
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Significant and demonstrable commercial experience in the following areas:
- VMWare 6/7/8.X multi-site environments
- Cisco UCS
- NSX environments
- Platform monitoring solutions and paradigms
- Fibre Channel Fabrics, including Brocade switching
- Disaster recovery planning and execution, including wider assurance activities
- Data centre management and best practices
- Windows and RHEL operating systems
- Infrastructure as code, including automation using a combination of Ansible, PowerShell/PowerCLI, Bash, Perl and/or Python
- Grafana
- Agile working practices, including Kanban
- Cross-functional DevOps environment
Desirable Skills:
- Certified across: VMware VCP 6.5 or higher, VCP2021-DCV/ VCAP NV & VCE - CIAE / CIMAE / Nutanix NCP, NetApp NCDA AWS Solutions Architect / AWS SysOPS Administrator
- Commercial experience of the following:
- Working with an assurance function to ensure DR/BCP design and testing procedures are fit for purpose
- MetroCluster - NetAPP AFF SANS
- Nutanix visualisation platform
- Security design and architecture
- Commvault platform
- vRA
