About the Role:
As part of a large scale 3 year digital transformation program, Harvey Nash's Pub Sec client require an Oracle DBA with experience in Oracle 9 and Solaris 9.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and ASM support
- Strong database and operating system concepts
- Good previous experience in administering Oracle DBs versions 9, 10, 11 in a high availability environment, experience in implementing DB upgrades
- Participate in client/project meeting(s) for needs assessment and design review
- Analyze the needs and requirements of users of existing and proposed database systems and develop technical, structural and organizational specifications to include access methods, access time, job control language, statistical methodologies, device allocation, validation checks, protection and security
- Design, develop, implement and maintain database for internal and external users/clients
- Create, document and implement standards and/or modeling to monitor and enhance the capacity and performance of the database
- Program and write codes as necessary
- Develop data import and export routines to automate data loading
- Build windows, screens and reports
Desirable Qualifications:
- Oracle certification such as Administrator Certified Associate/Professional and additional knowledge and/or experience working with Azure Dev Ops are a plus
- Experience of backups, business continuity, and disaster recovery using a range of techniques (RMAN, DataGuard, Commvault etc.)
- Must have experience installing, administrating and upgrading Oracle 9, 10G
- Experience and knowledge in Database Administration of Oracle Databases
- Minimum 5 years experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment
- 5 to 7 years experience as an Oracle DBA in a production environment, with experience in both 9 and 10g versions
- Solaris 9/10 Administration skills preferable
