Network Field Engineer - Wi-Fi Upgrade and refresh Project
12 month contract, 450pd Outside IR35
Please note, candidates must be Scotland based.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work in partnership with IT colleagues, contract companies and operational colleagues attending multiple sites all over Scotland, working nights and if required weekends with partners.
- Good working knowledge of how Cisco Switches, wireless systems and access points are presented to customer premises.
- The ability to identify the equipment installed on customer premises that relates to Wi-Fi delivery and presentation, often in busy and congested sites of various sizes.
- Understanding of underlying services that may utilise Wi-Fi.
- The ability to trace cabling from comms rooms and cabinets to AP socket, with the assistance of contract company support where appropriate.
- Good working knowledge of best practice approaches to stock management, building AP configs, testing and documenting for live service deployment.
- Maintaining accurate records in relation to the identification of existing AP units and install of new AP units generating new heat maps.
- Work with installation contractors to survey, document installs, log issues/snags ultimately signing off their work after observation of the installs, reporting back to key project personnel when required.
