Role overview:

We are currently working with an IT Consultancy based in Leicester who are looking for an experienced System Administrator / DBA to join them on an initial 3-month contract, with strong potential for extension. This role is fully remote and paying £300–325 per day Outside IR35. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining infrastructure and database environments across a range of customer projects, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL (Postgres) database administration, MongoDB, SQL, and overall system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • PostgreSQL (Postgres) database administration, maintenance, monitoring, and performance tuning
  • MongoDB administration and support
  • SQL querying, optimisation, and troubleshooting
  • Infrastructure and systems administration across production environments
  • Managing backups, patching, upgrades, and database reliability
  • Supporting system improvements, migrations, and ongoing maintenance

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong PostgreSQL (Postgres) DBA experience
  • Commercial DBA experience across production environments
  • MongoDB administration experience
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Infrastructure support and system administration experience
  • Experience troubleshooting critical database and infrastructure issues
