I'm currently partnering with Meta Reality Labs to hire an Acoustic Research Engineer for an exciting 12-month contract based at Meta's state-of-the-art audio research facility near Cambridge, UK.
If you're passionate about acoustics and cutting-edge audio technology, this is an opportunity to work alongside some of the world's leading researchers developing the future of audio experiences for next-generation AR/VR devices and Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses.
What you'll be doing:
- Design and conduct acoustic and audio experiments in controlled laboratory environments.
- Perform acoustic measurements and audio data collection using advanced capture systems and prototype devices.
- Develop data acquisition and processing tools using Python, MATLAB, or MaxMSP.
- Analyse audio signals and collaborate with multidisciplinary research and engineering teams.
- Contribute to innovative research through technical reports and experimental methodologies.
We're looking for candidates with:
- Strong hands-on experience in acoustics and audio signal processing
- Experience designing and running acoustic experiments
- Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB
- A Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with room acoustics, psychoacoustics, spatial audio, or acoustic measurements is highly desirable
Location: Cambridge, UK (5 days onsite)
Contract: 12 months
