Title: SAP Principal Systems Engineer

Location: Birmingham preferred, open to London or Salford (must travel to Birmingham once per week)

Contract Length: 6 months

Working Model: Hybrid – 1–2 days per week onsite

Hours: Monday–Friday, 35 hours per week

Interview Process: 1–2 stages via Microsoft Teams

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Principal Systems Engineer to support a large-scale HR transformation programme within a complex, fast-paced technology environment. You will lead the planning, design, integration, testing, and delivery of SAP HR systems, ensuring solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

✨ Lead technical delivery across SAP HR systems, including solution design, integration, and testing

✨ Provide expert technical guidance for HR transformation initiatives

✨ Collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, project teams, and technical leads

✨ Support SIT/UAT phases and ensure quality assurance across system changes

✨ Produce and review technical documentation

✨ Ensure systems are monitored, supported, and maintained effectively

✨ Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership

✨ Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery

Essential Skills & Experience

✔ Strong background in HR change or transformation projects

✔ Expert knowledge of SAP HCM (Human Capital Management)

✔ Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori and/or SAP ECC

✔ Solid understanding of systems integration, SIT, and UAT processes

✔ Excellent stakeholder and supplier/vendor management experience

✔ Strong communication skills with the ability to work in complex, multi-disciplinary teams

✔ Experience delivering solutions in large-scale enterprise environments
