We are seeking an experienced Lead Technical Architect to act as a senior technical authority across a complex and evolving enterprise technology landscape. This role will work closely with the IT leadership team to provide clear, pragmatic technical direction and help shape how technical architecture is defined and operated within the organisation.

A key focus of the role will be establishing and evolving the organisation’s approach to technical architecture, ensuring there is appropriate structure, consistency, and decision‑making support across a broad portfolio of systems and services. This includes helping to guide technology choices, reduce complexity, and support application and platform rationalisation across a predominantly Microsoft‑based environment, alongside a range of enterprise SaaS platforms such as Oracle and ServiceNow.

This is a broad and influential architecture role requiring someone who can operate confidently across multiple technology domains, provide clear technical guidance, and act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a senior technical advisor to IT leadership, providing guidance on architecture decisions and technical direction
  • Help define and shape the organisation’s approach to technical architecture, standards, and ways of working
  • Provide oversight and direction across a broad portfolio of systems, platforms, and technology initiatives
  • Support application and technology rationalisation across core platforms (including Microsoft, Oracle, ServiceNow and other SaaS products)
  • Translate business and technology needs into clear, practical architectural direction
  • Act as an escalation point for technical considerations and architectural decisions
  • Work with stakeholders, delivery teams, and suppliers to ensure alignment on technical direction
  • Support the evaluation and adoption of new technologies where appropriate
Requirements
  • Strong background in Technical, Solution, or Enterprise Architecture roles
  • Broad experience across multiple technology domains (applications, infrastructure, cloud, integration, data)
  • Experience operating as a trusted technical advisor within senior leadership teams
  • Ability to provide pragmatic architectural direction in complex, evolving environments
  • Experience working across diverse technology estates, including enterprise platforms and SaaS solutions
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior audiences
  • Experience in large, complex organisations with multiple systems, teams, and suppliers

This is a high‑impact opportunity for an experienced architect who enjoys working across a broad technology landscape and influencing technical direction at a strategic level. The organisation is looking to strengthen and shape its technical architecture capability, and this role will play a key part in defining that future approach.
