AWS Platform Engineer| 6 months | Predominantly Remote (Edinburgh based) Day Rate – up to £560 Duration – 12 month Harvey Nash’s client is recruiting for an AWS Platform Engineer for an initial duration of 12 months, with the possibility to extend. Occasional office attendance required. Main Responsibilities Work alongside Product Teams to ensure the good practices developing, testing, deploying and supporting products on AWS. Design, build and support services for software delivery with a focus on the client’s AWS Platform. Develop, build and support people to use libraries (usually CDK constructs) and vended services that wrap and present platform features. Improve security of Lambda functions Deprecation of on-prem products in favour of cloud based alternatives (Imperva WAF, RabbitMQ, Postgres, ElasticSearch, InfluxDB, Jenkins) Ensure platform meets client governance and security requirements. Support client core platforms (container platform, monitoring, telemetry). Key Skills Designing and building platforms in AWS. AWS Serverless technologies. CI/CD methodology and native AWS CI/CD tooling. Defining infrastructure and processes as code. Working in the Agile delivery models – such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks AWS Shield Advanced, WAFv2, AWS Firewall Manager AWS Lambda, CDK, S3, Cloud Formation, API Gateway, EC2, AMIs GuardDuty, Transit Gateway, AWS Config, Route53, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, Codepipeline, CodeArtifact, Containerised platforms, Openshift, Kubernetes, ECS, Fargate. Python, Bash, Ansible, Groovy Git, Artifactory, ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, Jenkins, Kibana, Grafana AWSLinux, RHel, Ubuntu, Experience with AWS Security and Networks.
