  • Accounts Assistant
  • Oldham (5 Days On Site) | £30,000 - £35,000 + Benefits | Permanent

\n We're looking for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing finance team in a broad, hands-on role that offers far more than traditional purchase ledger processing. \n Whilst Accounts Payable will be at the heart of the position, you'll also gain exposure to month-end activities, reconciliations, reporting, compliance work and wider finance responsibilities across multiple businesses within the group. \n This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys operational finance, wants variety in their day-to-day work and is looking to build a long-term career within a supportive finance team. \n The Role \n

Key responsibilities will include

  • Processing supplier invoices and matching against purchase orders \n
  • Managing supplier accounts and resolving invoice queries \n
  • Preparing payment runs and maintaining strong supplier relationships \n
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations \n
  • Processing employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations \n
  • Managing petty cash records \n
  • Supporting month-end close activities \n
  • Assisting with management reports and financial information \n
  • Preparing monthly CIS returns \n
  • Supporting VAT compliance activities \n
  • Assisting with audit preparation and responding to auditor requests \n
  • Providing support with credit control when required \n
  • Contributing to finance process improvements and ad hoc projects across the wider team \n \n

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have

  • \n \n
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Accounts Payable role \n
  • Strong purchase ledger and invoice processing experience \n
  • Supplier reconciliation experience \n
  • Payment run experience \n
  • Good understanding of month-end processes \n
  • Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and formulas \n
  • Experience using accounting software or ERP systems \n
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills \n
  • A proactive and team-oriented approach to work \n \n
