The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced

Senior User Researcher to join a growing digital transformation team delivering impactful public sector programmes.

This role offers the opportunity to work within multidisciplinary teams, helping shape services through evidence-led research and user-centred design.

You'll collaborate with service designers, product managers, business analysts, delivery managers and technical specialists to ensure services are designed around real user needs.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Leading user research across Discovery, Alpha, Beta and Live phases.
  • Planning and conducting interviews, usability testing, workshops and contextual research.
  • Synthesising research findings into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Supporting product, service and delivery decisions through evidence-based research.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary Agile teams.

Essential Experience

  • Significant experience delivering User Research within digital transformation or service improvement programmes.
  • Strong Public Sector or Government experience is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of GDS principles, Service Standards and User-Centred Design.
  • Experience delivering a range of qualitative research methods.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary Agile teams.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design.
