Principal Engineer | Financial Services | London | Permanent | Hybrid | up to £150k
I'm working on an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer to build new digital fintech products from the ground up (Greenfield).
This is a genuinely hands-on Principal role - you'll lead an engineering squad, shape architecture, make key technical decisions, mentor engineers and stay hands on engineering digital products.
Required:
- 7-8+ years' software engineering experience, with experience leading as a principal, staff level or tech lead.
- Strong system design & technical leadership
- Full-stack experience
- Key Technologies: Java/Spring Boot, React/TypeScript and React Native, Azure (AWS or GCP is fine), Kubernetes, Terraform & CI/CD
- APIs, microservices & event-driven architecture.
- Production ownership & modern engineering practices.
- Experience using AI - integrated into the SDLC.
