A leading Bank are currently seeking a Programme Director/Head of Tech Delivery to join them on a permanent basis in London. The role requires in-depth knowledge and leadership experience in the technical delivery of payments systems change. The role combines change management and programme director experience, alongside functional leadership of an IT team.

Essential Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in technical delivery of payments system change delivery, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Very strong knowledge of Faster Payments/ Electronic Payments.
  • Proven track record of delivering end‑to‑end change initiatives across payments platforms, card services, clearing systems, or operational payment processes.
  • Proven experience in technology strategy, large-scale IT system design, and delivery in an agile tribes, hybrid and traditional waterfall environment.
  • Ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment across diverse departments and functions, while driving innovation and achieving strategic goals.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise initiatives and strategically align them with business objectives, driving organisational success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
