We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a data transformation programme, initially running until 31st December, with strong potential for extension. This role will play a key part in the organisation's transition from Business Objects to a modern SALT Stack (Snowflake, Alteryx and Tableau). The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the people and process elements of the programme, ensuring stakeholders are engaged, priorities are managed, and the transformation progresses smoothly. This is an initial FTC role working for a University in Leeds. The role is hybrid working, but must be able to get to Leeds if required.
This is a business-facing project management role focused on coordination, communication and delivery rather than technical implementation. You'll work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, prioritise work, and provide clear visibility of programme progress. Initially, you'll be expected to establish a clear view of the current programme landscape, providing updates on progress, identifying outstanding work, and ensuring stakeholders have a shared understanding of the roadmap.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the coordination of the organisation's migration from Business Objects to the SALT Stack (Snowflake, Alteryx and Tableau).
- Provide clear programme updates, establishing the current project landscape, progress to date, and remaining deliverables.
- Gather business requirements and stakeholder feedback throughout the transformation.
- Identify and coordinate training and change management activities to support adoption.
- Prioritise workstreams and manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
- Act as the link between business users and technical/data teams, ensuring requirements are clearly communicated.
- Translate complex project information into clear, accessible updates for a range of audiences.
- Support governance and decision-making throughout the programme.
We're looking for a strong organiser and communicator who excels at managing people, processes and stakeholder expectations. While an appreciation of data and analytics is beneficial, this is not a deeply technical role. You will have:
- Proven experience managing complex projects or transformation programmes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
- Experience gathering business requirements and coordinating cross-functional teams.
- The ability to simplify complex information and provide clarity to stakeholders.
- Confidence working with both business and technical teams.
- Experience within Higher Education or the public sector.
- Experience delivering data transformation, reporting, dashboard, or automation programmes.
- Familiarity with Business Objects, Snowflake, Alteryx or Tableau would be advantageous, although technical expertise is not essential.
