About the Role:
You will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and assurance of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure, with a predominant focus on Microsoft Azure. This role requires technical expertise in cloud identity, access management, automation, and security controls, supporting both project delivery and ongoing operational maintenance. The architect will work closely with engineering, security, and operations teams.
The position requires a strong understanding of cloud identity, access management, automation, and security controls, enabling the organisation to maintain robust and supportable cloud services. By leveraging their technical expertise, they will drive operational reliability, play a critical role in safeguarding the digital assets, and will enable the effective and secure use of cloud solutions.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Architect and implement cloud infrastructure solutions, predominantly on Azure, ensuring alignment with organisational security and operational policy.
- Develop and enforce privileged access management, including RBAC, PIM, and conditional access policies.
- Lead the automation of infrastructure deployment and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates).
- Specify and implement secure configuration baselines, including Azure Policy, network security, and platform guardrails.
- Integrate and optimise monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel) to support operational visibility and incident response.
- Collaborate with product owners, security, and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions that meet business and compliance requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across cloud networking, identity, and platform services.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, including reference architectures, runbooks, and operational guides.
- Stay current with cloud platform developments and best practices, applying them to improve security, efficiency, and reliability.
- Drive the migration of resources between Azure tenants and rearchitect legacy products for cloud environments, ensuring security, scalability, and cost optimisation.
