About The Role:
Harvey Nash FS client are seeking a Data Analytics Consultant to deliver a defined set of data analysis and reporting outcomes for our strategic data transformation programme. You will operate independently to interpret business requirements, translate them into actionable data insights, and deliver visualisation assets and documentation that support effective decision-making.
Main Duties:
- Design and delivery of a suite of interactive dashboards and visualisation assets aligned to stakeholder requirements
- Analytical insights derived from large, complex datasets to support strategic business initiatives
- A defined set of data definitions and reporting standards, created in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs)
- A handover pack documenting visualisation logic, metrics, and processes to support ongoing internal adoption
- Recommendations for future process automation opportunities and platform utilisation improvements
- Engage independently with business stakeholders and SMEs to extract, document, and challenge reporting and data requirements
- Translate business needs into logical data models and reporting solutions, recommending appropriate metrics and KPIs
- Conduct detailed data analysis and identify trends, outliers, and growth opportunities relevant to defined business initiatives
- Develop best-practice Power BI dashboards (or equivalent) that empower business users to make data-informed decisions
- Liaise with the internal Data Engineering function to advise on data sourcing or transformation requirements
- Define and document clear data definitions and reporting logic for internal teams
- Provide guidance and recommendations for the effective use of internal data platforms and tooling
- Deliver structured handovers and walkthroughs for any developed assets or logic
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven track record of delivering data analysis and reporting solutions as part of a consultancy engagement or contract
- Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming complex datasets
- Experience in dimensional data modelling and working with structured data warehouses
- Expertise in analytics techniques such as forecasting, outlier detection, and correlation analysis
- Hands-on experience delivering high-quality dashboards using Power BI or similar tools
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders, interpreting business needs, and operating with minimal supervision
Desirable Experience
- Python for data transformation or analysis
- DAX for advanced Power BI metrics
- Experience working with Snowflake
- Use of Git for version control
- Streamlit or similar tools for lightweight data apps
