Key Responsibilities

  • Operate woodworking machinery including table saws, planers, moulders, edge banders, and drills
  • Produce cabinet components to technical drawings and specifications
  • Set machine speeds, feed rates, and tooling to achieve precise cuts and finishes
  • Prepare machinery for production runs, including tooling changes, calibration, and test cuts
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning to ensure optimal machine performance
  • Report any faults, breakdowns, or safety issues immediately
  • Check dimensions, tolerances, and finishes of machined components
  • Ensure components meet technical drawing specifications before passing to assembly or finishing
  • Follow PPE, COSHH, and machine safety protocols
  • Keep the workshop and machine areas clean, tidy, and hazard‑free
  • Ensure safe handling of materials and machinery
  • Work closely with all departments to meet production schedules
  • Communicate effectively regarding material availability, machine performance, and potential issues
