Tax Technology Assistant Manager - AI & Automation (Birmingham or London | hybrid)
We're partnering with a top-10 firm to find a Tax Technology Assistant Manager for their in-house Tax Technology team - a genuinely exciting role helping drive AI and automation solutions across an entire national Tax business, with your "client" being the whole Tax team, nationwide.
Our client is a fast-growing firm with ambitions to become the premium adviser to the middle market, globally. Their Tax Technology team is small but growing, with exciting projects ahead - a rare chance to join early and help shape its direction as it scales.
About the Role
This high-visibility, national role sees you helping drive AI and automation solutions across the Tax business, delivering high-impact implementations and working closely with internal and external developers alongside the Tax Technology leadership team.
You'll be proactive, results-driven and hands-on, ensuring projects deliver tangible benefits that empower Tax colleagues to provide premium client service. There's real scope for progression, with the chance to make a significant impact nationally - and potentially influence on a global scale.
You'll make an impact by:
- Owning implementations end-to-end: identifying opportunities, defining requirements, and delivering AI and automation solutions that transform Tax processes
- Bridging business and technology: turning business needs into practical, high-value technology solutions
- Driving change and results: taking ownership of projects and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency and client service
- Collaborating and influencing: engaging stakeholders across the Tax function, including running training sessions to upskill colleagues
- Testing and refining: participating in functional and user testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements
What we're looking for:
- Experience in Tax Technology, either in an internal or client-facing role
- Knowledge of tax compliance and advisory processes
- A proactive, results-driven approach, with initiative to drive projects to measurable outcomes
- Skill in translating business requirements into user stories, wireframes or workflows
- Comfort using data analytics to identify opportunities, track KPIs and measure success
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams
