Contract Management Accountant | Newhaven, East Sussex | 2-3 Months
Our client, a growing and entrepreneurial business based in Newhaven, is looking for a Contract Management Accountant to join them on an initial 2-3 month assignment with possibility to extend.
This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Head of Finance, supporting the business during a new system implementation. You'll join a small, close-knit finance team who work highly collaboratively, and your input will genuinely shape how successfully things run during a period of change.
The exact focus of the role can flex depending on your background, whether that's leaning more heavily into month end and reporting, or taking a more active role in the systems implementation itself.
The role:
- Support the Head of Finance throughout the system implementation, with scope to get more involved in process mapping, testing and data migration if that's where your strengths lie
- Manage month-end management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations, with the ability to take on more of this workload if your background is stronger on the reporting side
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to the wider business, with strong Excel skills used throughout
- Work closely with a small team, so a flexible, roll-up-your-sleeves approach is essential
About you:
- Qualified or QBE Management Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
- Strong Excel skills essential
- Experience of system implementations or migrations is desirable, but not required if your core strength is month-end and reporting
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with less structure than a larger corporate
- Confident communicator, able to work autonomously
- Available at short notice for an immediate or near-immediate start
