We have a requirement for a No.2 Site Manager (Ideally from an Engineering background) for a project in Hemel Hempstead. Start date: 12th May 2025 for a 20 week duration. Project value: circa GBP5M.
Project details: Our client is a specialist contractor, working for a main contractor. They will be responsible for a 3 storey, steel frame building with precast concrete planks and 2 stair cores. The project is part of the redevelopment of an old Amazon warehouse. The main contractor has completed the groundworks.
The role is the No. 2 on site - primarily to support the site team by taking on quality inspections and record keeping (which is fairly extensive, but not excessive), providing a second pair of eyes for the overall supervision of the site, and offering general support to the Site Manager. If the candidate has a site engineering background, they may be asked to conduct a few spot checks of the structure.
The successful candidate will need a valid CSCS card (ideally White or Black) and SSSTS or SMSTS certification. They must be thoroughly computer literate and provide their own computer, as we are unable to provide any IT equipment. A good understanding of a range of construction practices and techniques is necessary, along with comfort in the administrative aspects the role requires. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
