Harvey Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of client sites. The role requires a strong background in either electrical or mechanical building services, together with a sound working knowledge of associated building systems. The successful candidate will act as a lead engineer on designated sites, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities across client sites.
  • Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on a wide range of building services systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency callouts.
  • Provide regular updates to the Helpdesk and Maintenance Management Team on work progress and completion.

Building Services Systems

  • Maintain and support systems including, but not limited to:
    • Electrical Systems: Fixed wire installation, Emergency lighting, Fire alarm systems, General lighting and power systems, Electrical controls and associated plant.
    • Mechanical Systems: Hot and cold water services, Pumps and booster sets, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), Ventilation systems, Heating systems, Air conditioning systems, Water hygiene and Legionella control systems.

Site Management and Compliance

  • Act as Lead Engineer on designated client sites.
  • Carry out inductions for specialist contractors and visitors.
  • Supervise subcontractors where required and ensure works are completed to agreed standards.
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with company Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Environmental procedures.
  • Complete all maintenance documentation, reports, and records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities for system improvements and energy efficiency initiatives.

Customer Service

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and supply chain partners.
  • Provide a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
  • Represent Harvey Group positively while working on client premises.

On-Call Duties

  • Participate in the engineering call-out rota and provide out-of-hours support as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Time-served Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Heating or Building Services Engineer.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar facilities maintenance role.
  • Proven experience working within commercial and industrial environments.
  • Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Certified Health & Safety training (CSR / SafePass or equivalent).
  • Full clean driving licence.

Candidates Should Hold One or More of the Following:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Inspection and Testing qualification.
  • Gas qualifications (Commercial and/or Domestic).
  • Legionella / Water Hygiene qualifications.
  • Unvented Hot Water qualification.
  • Relevant HVAC or Mechanical Services qualifications.

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
  • Gas Safe Registration (Commercial).
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls.
  • MEWP certification.
  • PASMA certification.
  • Asbestos Awareness training.
  • Manual Handling training.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and energy management systems.
  • Additional trade qualifications that support a multi-skilled maintenance environment.
