We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking team at Harvey Group Practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a GP looking to work within a well-established, supportive practice that values high-quality patient care, strong team collaboration, and clinician wellbeing. Main duties of the job

  • The successful candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centred care as part of our clinical team, delivering telephone and online consultations across our two sites.
  • Managing a varied clinical caseload including acute, chronic, and preventative care.
  • Conducting face-to-face, telephone, and digital consultations in line with practice processes.
  • Assessing, diagnosing, treating, and appropriately referring patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions.
  • Safe prescribing and medication management in accordance with local and national guidelines.
  • Reviewing and actioning clinical correspondence, pathology results, and associated workflow tasks.
  • Supporting continuity of care and working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Participating in the practice duty/on-call and triage on a shared basis.
  • Undertaking home visits.
  • Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous clinical records using EMIS Web.
  • Contributing to safeguarding, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and QOF/IIF work.
  • Working closely with practice nurses, pharmacists, care coordinators, and wider ARRS roles to deliver integrated patient care.
  • Participating in clinical meetings, protected learning events, and continuing professional development activities.
  • Supporting the teaching and supervision of medical students and trainees where appropriate.
  • Contributing positively to practice development and helping shape future ways of working within the practice and PCN.

Job responsibilities

Reporting to: Partners / Practice Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • The postholder will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care services, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Conducting face-to-face, telephone and online consultations with patients.
  • Managing a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, including chronic disease management and acute presentations.
  • Undertaking patient examinations, investigations, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Prescribing safely and effectively, in line with current practice and clinical guidelines.
  • Supporting health promotion and preventative medicine initiatives.
  • Participating in duty doctor rota, on-call sessions, and home visits (where required).
  • Referring patients appropriately to secondary care or other healthcare providers.
  • Contributing to practice audits, QOF, IIF, CQC compliance, and clinical governance.
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely medical records in accordance with best practice and legal requirements.
  • Participating in regular clinical meetings, case discussions and practice development.

Person Specification

  • Qualifications: GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to patient centred care and teamwork.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to change in a modern NHS environment.
  • Experience in chronic disease management and QOF.
  • Interest in teaching, training, or supervising medical students, registrars, or other clinicians.
  • Special clinical interests that complement the needs of the practice.
