Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized law student based in Europe with a common-law background to provide part-time legal and administrative support.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in, and preferably prior experience with, venture capital, corporate law, startups, regulatory compliance, and cross-border legal matters.
Previous paralegal or comparable legal support experience is highly desirable.
This role requires someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple administrative and legal-support tasks, and able to communicate professionally with clients and other external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include
- Providing day-to-day legal and administrative support, including document management, correspondence, scheduling, meeting preparation, and follow-up.
- Conducting preliminary legal, corporate, and regulatory research across relevant jurisdictions, mainly in the US.
- Supporting matters relating to venture capital transactions, startups, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and cross-border business activities.
- Assisting with the preparation, organization, and review of corporate and transactional documentation, including agreements, term sheets, corporate records, and due-diligence materials.
- Supporting due-diligence processes and maintaining organized transaction and corporate documentation.
- Tracking regulatory, compliance, filing, and other administrative requirements.
- Preparing concise research notes, summaries, briefing materials, presentations, and spreadsheets.
- Assisting with client communications, meeting preparation, and follow-up under appropriate supervision.
- Coordinating documentation and information among lawyers, clients, founders, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Managing ad hoc legal, research, operational, and administrative projects.
- Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will
- Be a current law student or recent law graduate
- Have a common-law legal background, whether through education, professional experience, or substantial exposure to a common-law jurisdiction.
- Have English proficiency at C1 level or above, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ideally have previous venture capital experience or meaningful exposure to VC transactions, startup financing, or the startup ecosystem.
- Ideally have previous paralegal, legal assistant, or comparable legal-support experience.
- Be highly organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership of administrative tasks.
- Have an interest in corporate and commercial law, venture capital, startups, regulatory compliance, and cross-border matters.
- Be comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Be capable of handling confidential and commercially sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
- Be comfortable communicating professionally with clients and other external stakeholders.
- Have strong Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace skills and be comfortable learning new legal research and productivity tools.
