Beth Israel Deaconess (BID) Plymouth is seeking a full-time Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pulmonologist to join our medical team at a well-established community hospital in one of Massachusetts’ most desirable coastal suburbs. BID Plymouth is a 175-bed community hospital located within 45 miles of downtown Boston. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with respiratory conditions, utilising advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques to enhance patient outcomes. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualised treatment plans and contribute to ongoing research initiatives aimed at improving respiratory health.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnostics for patients with pulmonary disorders including asthma, COPD, and interstitial lung disease.
- Develop and implement personalised treatment plans, utilising evidence-based practices and the latest advancements in pulmonary medicine.
- Perform procedures such as bronchoscopy and thoracentesis as well as interpretation of pulmonary function tests.
- Collaborate with other specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care and management.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
The primary role for this position is in the pulmonary specialty with an optional role as an intensivist (1:5 weekly call schedule) in the BID - Plymouth Critical Care Unit.
Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board certification in Pulmonary Medicine.
- Strong clinical skills with a focus on patient-centred care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in interpreting advanced pulmonary diagnostic tests.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies:
