THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Operations Manager, we are seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our Operations team. This role requires a motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills both written and oral. The warehouse operative will be responsible for a range of duties within the warehouse environment including (but not exclusively) shipping and receiving, maintaining inventory, completing paperwork, forklift operation and quality control.
Essential Job Functions:
- Making sure stock and supplies are received, booked in and stored correctly.
- Pick orders in an accurate and time efficient manner.
- Have good attention to detail, ensuring items and work are completed with minimal errors.
- Packing items ready for dispatch ensuring labels and invoices are printed and correct.
- Loading / Unloading vehicles.
- Carry out required cycle-counts for the department to meet its targets on pick-accuracy.
- Ensure chemicals and spares are kitted correctly as required.
- Quality Control of incoming goods.
- Maintaining a clear and tidy warehouse, ensuring any potential hazards are dealt with safely, quickly, and efficiently.
- Working both independently and as part of a team.
- Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Good communication and a positive, team focused attitude.
- Good level of I.T skills.
- Experience of working within a warehousing function – Essential.
- Forklift License (Reach, Electric Stacker Truck) – Preferred.
- Dangerous Goods knowledge – An advantage.
- Lean Management knowledge - An advantage.
