Your role is about much more than academic support; it involves building a secure, trusting relationship that empowers children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in Mainstream SEND Hubs.
  • Develop students’ independence, emotional resilience, and social skills, while supporting them in achieving individual targets.
  • Implement planned learning activities, observe achievements, and maintain records to monitor progress and inform assessment.
  • Assist with personal care programmes—including hygiene, toileting, eating and drinking—to encourage independence and dignity.
  • Adhere to all school safeguarding policies and report concerns through appropriate channels.
Qualifications

GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent in English and Maths; Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) with experience supporting students with SEND.

Experience

Working with SEND pupils in an educational setting is essential.

Professional knowledge & understanding

Understanding of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and experience supporting students to achieve their individual goals.

Skills

Excellent communication and the ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
