You will become a key member of the team as we continue to expand our curriculum, especially teaching in areas around human psychology and human-animal interactions.

As an Academic Personal Tutor, you will support students as they transition into and through Higher Education, enabling them to maximise the opportunities Hartpury offers, and to achieve their full potential. A candidate with excellent communication skills, and with experience and the ability to work professionally with industry contacts across subject areas would be welcomed. The role requires a passion for educating, influencing and enabling the next generation of graduates to add value to the industry, nationally and globally. Supporting higher education programme delivery, you will be highly enthusiastic and professional.

You will grasp the opportunity to foster cross-disciplinary collaborations and ambitions that will build on current strengths within the department, and across the institution. You will have a higher education teaching qualification or professional recognition (e.g. FHEA/SFHEA or equivalent) or a commitment to complete one within two years of appointment. You will possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area, with a PhD being highly desirable. Relevant industry experience within the subject field would be an advantage as would professional body membership (e.g. BPS, BACP). Ability and willingness to teach across a range of psychology-related topics at undergraduate level would be an advantage but a particular interest in and awareness of the area of human-animal interaction is essential. Be highly motivated with a commitment to the highest quality of teaching and learning.

  • Hybrid working arrangements with blended approach of office and home working.
